This course includes discussions about the dental assistant’s role and responsibility in the community as an oral healthcare professional. Other topics included are the tobacco cessation, HIV/AIDs, and treating physically/mentally challenged and homebound patients. The use of clinical photography, dental pulp tester, and DIAGNOdent and VELscope in dental treatments will be explored and there will be discussion of topics related to rotation.
