This course will focus on the holistic role of the caring professional nurse in community and public health settings. Topics include current practice responsibilities, legal issues, global perspectives, cultural considerations, environmental health, epidemiology, evidence-based health promotion, prevention, and the assessment of diverse families and populations. It is presented in an online and hybrid format with a community practicum component providing the learner with an opportunity to observe and also practice the principles of community health nursing. This is an online and hybrid format course that incorporates web-based components.
