STS 1308 - Perioperative Patient Care Concepts

This course will introduce you to the needs of the surgical patient with a focus on the special needs patient care concept which includes adult, pediatric, geriatric, and bariatric patients. Discussion will also include types of consents, transportation, and transfer of the surgical patient, preoperative patient routines, positioning, and safety issues, and death and dying will be included. You must complete this course with a grade of C or higher in order to start the clinical rotations.
